"Scott Saw: Rider of the Rocket Bird" -->
Acrylic on canvas 18 x 24 inches
This show will be twenty eight portraits of artists by other artists. I was in a show called "Movers and Shakers" last year, and thought it would be interesting to do the same thing in the Encinitas community. I selected a list of people I felt were doing unusual things with their art, and it's a wide variety of people. Some are famous, some not so famous, and some simply well known and loved in their neighborhood, but they are all very cool. Then I thought of a list of artists I like, and once again, some are highly trained in their genre, but some are naïve and some self taught. We,(my partner, Dody Tucker and I), threw the names in a hat, and that's how we paired up our artists with their models.
I GOTTA BLOG FOR THIS SHOW!

I will be posting pictures of the artists posing with their art was the work comes in.

RECYCLED ART - ON EXHIBIT
Encinitas Library
540 Cornish Dr.
Encinitas CA 92024
760-753-7376

Here is my entry in the “Wearable Art” category and I won first prize!!!
Everything except the mask, thread and beads to attach the beer bottle caps was recycled and obtained from thrift stores, including the dress maker’s form. I sewed 660 bottle caps on the hat and jacket and it took about a week. I’d been collecting bottle caps for a couple of years, and picking up stray ones on the beach.

IN THE WORKS:
Scary Goddesses

This is my new series called "Scary Goddess". I plan on doing 20 (or more) of them and publishing a full color catalog. They are 24 X 30 inches, acrylic on canvas.

COMIX NEWS:

"BubbleGun 3"
Scott McCloud wasn't kidding 20 years ago, when he said computers would shrink the world, (or something like that. Here's proof. This latest little gem comes from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and the third issue devoted to female cartoonists. It's all in Czech, but you can "read the art" very easily. I let them print a three page story about the great singer/comedian, Rusty Warren, that was written by Soozie the Floozie and illustrated by me several years ago but was never published.
Other contributors include Trina Robbins, Jennifer Camper, Aza, Bara Jilkova, Jaroslava Dejlova, Erika Grendelova, Elke R. Steiner, Ina Korneliussen, Nancy Pena, Melissa MacAlpin, Aneta Bendakova, Margreet de Heer and Jaroslava Kocova. For more info: (only in Czech language)
http://bubble.kocogel.info/
Click on the image of the cover, and you can see pictures of the publishers celebrating the release of this issue and baptizing it with...milk!
Here's the original version in English.

And here's the comic in Czech:
